Sweet, Adventurous, & Creative Summer; A Manifesto

A Summer Manifesto

Summer is quickly approaching, bringing more light, love, and living! The summer’s beauty of the natural world seems to let you know that you should never forget about them and to hold on to it as we wait for it during the winter months. Summer lets us know that when there is rain, beauty grows. When there is death, new life blooms. When you sow, you will reap.

We all have put in a lot of work over the past months whether it was studying at school, working hard for a promotion, dealing with death, or even new life. We seem to put in a lot of work, I know I have and I am ready to enjoy this summer living. It is easy for me to say that because I am a teacher and have the summer off, but I believe that summers are for everyone and to enjoy it to the max!

What is a Manifesto

Summers are sweet, should be adventurous and allow your creative juices to flow!

Sweet

This summer should be filled with a sweetness that excites all of your senses. Open your eyes to see sweet visions filled with art, rainbows, smiles and more. Your ears should tune in to the sweet sounds of melodies and sweet I love you! Taste the sweetness of ice cream and BBQ and summer foods from different places. You should feel the sweetness of kisses and hugs from loved ones. You should smell the sweet summer aromas of the salty beach or chlorinated pools, smell the sweetness of fresh cut grass, or the way the plane smells as you take summer trips.

Adventurous

Whether a 15 minute trip around your neighborhood or exploring a new city altogether, adventure should fill your summer. Moments should be filled with something you have never done and doing things you are scared of. Adventures can come in the form of books and volunteering. Adventures dedicated to self-discovery is a must! Find a new hangout spot! Talk to people you meet in public! Make new friends.

Creative

Tap into the creative side of your brain, whether it be taking a dance or art class. Learn something new like sewing or painting. Find a hobby that allows you to express your self and allowing for healing. Go visit the museum and art galleries. Redo your living space or add new art.
