Photo Diary: First Ave Memorial – Prince

DSC_0005

Greetings beautiful people!

Over the weekend I flew to Minneapolis to surprise my mother for Mother’s Day (See the viral video below) and I couldn’t come to Minneapolis with out paying my respect!

When my mother called asking if I heard that Prince died and my heart dropped. I reflected on his life and his music as well as a funny story that I had. Here is the story:

I was working at Macy’s Oak Grill and he was promoting his fragrance 3121 and we had an exclusive dinner for him and his guest. I was the host. He was floating to the bathroom and there was a board with the menu on it. He literally floated underneath the board, I couldn’t do that. He was a short man.

I was heartbroken because I was all the way in Dallas and all my friends and family were posting all the events they were attending. What was really shocking to me is that, I did not realize how much of an effect Prince had on the world! THE WHOLE WORLD MOURNED. Do you know how beautiful that is?  Cities celebrated his life by many different things.

I was glad that Dallas participated and I took this very dangerous video:

There are so many posts going around about how he died or why he died but I will just celebrate his life and legacy!

I went to the memorial and to my surprise people were still visiting and taking many pictures. Here are some of the photos that I took UNEDITED! Enjoy!

On some of the photos, you will see titles and some of the lyrics of some of his songs!

Photo Diary: First Avenue Memorial PRINCE Thank you for your contribution to the world!

Lady Cab Driver– Lady cab driver, can you take me for a ride? Don’t know where I’m goin’ ’cause I don’t know where I’ve been So just put your foot on the gas, let’s drive Lady, don’t ask questions Promise I’ll tell you no lies Trouble winds are blowin’, I’m growin’ cold Get me outta here, I feel I’m gonna die

While My Guitar Gently Weeps – I look at you all see the love there that’s sleeping While my guitar gently weeps I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping Still my guitar gently weeps I don’t know why nobody told you How to unfold your love I don’t know how someone controlled you They bought and sold you
Prince Memorial
If I Was Your Girlfriend– If I was your girlfriend, would you remember To tell me all the things you forgot when I was your man? Hey hey, when I was your man If I was your best friend, would you let me Take care of you and do all the things that only a best friend can? Oh, only best friends can

I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man- And I said, baby don’t waste your time I know what’s on your mind I may be qualified for a one night stand But I could never take the place of your man It hurt me so bad when she told me With tears in her eyes (tears in her eyes) He was all she ever had And now she wanted to die

Prince Memorial
Pink Cashmere– I’m making you a coat of pink cashmere You got to know how I feel about you How I always want you near I’m making you a coat of pink cashmere I’m counting every minute of every hour ‘Til you are here

When Doves Cry– How can you just leave me standing? Alone in a world that’s so cold? (So cold) Maybe I’m just too demanding Maybe I’m just like my father too bold Maybe you’re just like my mother She’s never satisfied (She’s never satisfied) Why do we scream at each other This is what it sounds like When doves cry
