For Such a Time As This
Scripture Focus: Esther 4:14 For Such a Time As This
“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Have you ever looked around and thought, Why am I here?
Sometimes our “placement” feels random, delayed, or far from what we imagined.
But like Esther, we discover that God’s positioning is never accidental; His purpose is always intentional.
In this session, we’re exploring Purpose & Position—how God plants us exactly where we need to be, even when we don’t feel ready.

“In this video, I’m sharing a creative Journal With Me session all about Purpose and Position, inspired by Esther’s story and how God places us right where we need to be, even when we don’t feel ‘ready.’ I’ll walk you through my hand-drawn Position & Purpose Map journal page as we reflect on what God is doing in our lives.”

Scripture Reading — Esther 4:10-17
Esther faced an impossible decision: approach the king uninvited and risk death, or remain silent while her people perished.
Her cousin Mordecai’s words echo through time:
“Perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”
Esther’s story teaches us three timeless truths:
- God’s placement often feels uncomfortable before it becomes clear.
- Courage is built in the waiting.
- Obedience opens the door for deliverance, often for others as well.
Devotional Reflection
God’s divine positioning rarely looks glamorous. It might look like the classroom, the cubicle, the kitchen table, or the quiet space of recovery.
You might feel unseen, under-qualified, or uncertain, but heaven knows exactly where you are.
“Esther’s courage wasn’t born from confidence; it was born from conviction.”
She didn’t wait until she felt ready; she moved because she trusted that God was already in the room before she entered it.
Reflect:
- Where has God placed me right now?
- Who might I be called to intercede for in this season?
- What act of obedience is He inviting me to take, even if it feels risky?
Journal Prompt — The Position & Purpose Map
Use your journal to journal through for such a time as this
Label five areas and spend a few quiet minutes writing or sketching in each:
- Where I’m Placed — What environments or roles am I in right now?
- My Purpose Here — What unique gifts has God entrusted to me?
- My Courage Corner — What fears must I surrender to move forward?
- My People — Who is encouraging or sharpening me?
- My Next Faith Step — What single act of obedience can I take this week?
Add color, doodles, or verse lettering, make it a creative altar of remembrance.
For Such a Time As This Prayer
Lord, thank You for placing me exactly where I need to be.
Even when I don’t feel ready, remind me that You’ve already prepared the way.
Strengthen my courage, clarify my purpose, and help me see this season as sacred.
I am here—for such a time as this. Amen.
You Were Made For Such A Time As This
You may not see it yet, but your position carries purpose.
Like Esther, you are part of God’s greater story.
Be faithful where you are planted—because the King is working behind the scenes, weaving everything together for His glory and for the good of others.
“You are right where you’re meant to be.
Stay faithful. Stay ready. Stay willing.”
