I am so excited to announce a brand-new gathering for anyone who loves Scripture, creativity, and community, the Bible Junk Journal Club Meetup! Starting this December, I’ll be hosting this meetup 1–2 times a month as a space where faith and creativity collide in the sweetest way. Whether you’re a seasoned journaler or someone who has never picked up a glue stick in your life, this group is designed to welcome you, encourage you, and help you deepen your walk with God through creative reflection.
Our very first meetup will be held on December 20th from 2–5 PM at White Rhino Coffee in Coppell, Texas. We’ll settle in with good coffee, warm conversation, and an intentional time of Bible study. Each session will include Scripture reading, reflection prompts, and open conversation where we can share testimonies, insights, and encouragement. After the study portion, we’ll shift into creative journaling, cutting, pasting, layering, writing, doodling, and building pages that capture what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us.
Every participant will receive a scrap pack filled with papers, textures, and little treasures to help you create your journal entries. I will also bring a selection of supplies to share, scissors, glue, stickers, patterned papers, washi tape, and more. You are absolutely welcome to bring your own supplies, especially if you have favorite tools. The only thing you must bring is your own journal. It can be a junk journal, a notebook, a sketchbook, whatever works best for your personal style.
This group will intentionally remain small, 10 people max, so we can build genuine relationships and meaningful conversations. Community like this matters deeply. Life can be overwhelming, noisy, and fast-paced, and sometimes we just need a space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with God and others. Creative faith practices help us process, remember, and internalize what God is doing in our lives. And gathering with others reminds us that we’re not alone in our journey.
My hope is that this meetup becomes a place where new friendships form, where stories are shared, where healing happens, and where creativity becomes a tool for spiritual growth. I’ll be hosting as CicelyRenee, Bible teacher, junk-journaling girlie, artist, and educator, and I cannot wait to meet the beautiful souls God will bring into this space.
If this sounds like your kind of afternoon, stay tuned for sign-ups and future dates. I’d love for you to join us!
